Brisket has nice spicy smoked bark, ribs sweetish spicy and tender, jalapeño sausage has mild kick and good flavor. Green bean casserole good enough for Thanksgiving dinner. Pintos could use a bit more salt and spice. And they have beef ribs! Giant, smoky, tender beef ribs! $24 for a 3-meat is hard to beat and easy to overdose, inducing a food coma. ”

“ I'm not exaggerating when I say that this wasn't just the best BBQ experience of my life but the best dining experience at a restaurant that I have ever had. My family and I were on a road trip from CA to LO and happened upon Doc's BBQ in Croquett, TX. We were delighted by the quality of the food, but what made Doc's truly unique was the service. The staff was genuinely concerned about my interests and desires. They basically were trying to help me customize the order to fit my families needs. This included genuinely listening. After this, the owner of the resteraunt, Jeremiah, came over and engaged us in conversation for about a half hour while we ate. He genuinely listened and cared about us and shared part of his story. He also gave me a free copy of his book "Jesus and Barbeque," which was full of his own personal wisdom and experiences from running a successful business based on God's principles, values, and even recipies. Would give them 10 stars if I could, and I will find a way to go back for more. ”
“ We stopped for dinner at this BBQ restaurant attached to a gas station. The brisket was great! (I learned that moist means more fat so we went with the lean). The people were very friendly and helpful. It was after 6pm and they close at 7, so they were out of many things. It's attached to a gas station, so don't go for the ambience, but they made an effort on their seating area. ”
“ Excellent food and the folks that run it are the best, friendly and courteous. We ate there on 5/23/25 for dinner. The sliced beef was excellent, you can choose between "moist" or "lean". We chose moist and it was melt in you mouth good. Great flavor also. The coleslaw and potato salad very fresh and cold, delicious. The owner came out to talk with us and we enjoyed that, he is genuinely friendly and will make sure you enjoy your food. Great experience, we wil be back next time we are down that way! ”

The food was solid, and the location is convenient, right off the highway, making it a great stop during a long trip. Cons: The only minor drawback is that they don’t have their own bathroom; it’s shared with the convenience store next door, but it’s honestly not a big issue. While the food is good, it’s not necessarily extraordinary. Pricing: Reasonable and in line with expectations. Overall, I’d rate it around 4 to 4.5 out of 5 ”
“ Jeremiah was kind and friendly, said I had never tried smoked boudin sausage before and the sweetheart cut up a link for my husband and I to try. And it was amazing, deliciously spicy and full of smoke flavor. His lean brisket was juicy and just fell apart, and the fat that was on it just melted in my mouth. Amazing Mac n cheese, with a great gooey texture and perfect salty flavor. I know everyone’s got their own preferences for how coleslaw should taste, but I loved the sweet finely chopped slaw. Everything was fantastic. Not to mention the interior was so classic, bucks mounted everywhere and beautiful wood benches. ”
